Suspension

The Process 111 Deluxe is a 29er bike great for easy tracking over big rocks and covering distance, but with the Kona Process geometry making steering slick. The Low and short frame geometry with the larger wheel base means you get all the benefits of a 29er ride but with the tight and controlled steering of a bike with smaller wheels.

The brakes are Avid XO Trail hydraulic brakes offering solid stopping power, with Stans Flow rims on Maxxis Ardent 29er specific tyres.

Featuring the new Rocker Independent Suspension from Kona, whose stable and progressive leverage rate curve means plush on the down and smooth on the climb

Kona Race Light 7005/6061 Aluminium Butted

Kona Race Light 7005/6061 is lighter and a much more performance-oriented fabrication of the 7005 and 6061 Aluminium tubing. The Race Light frame was designed to meet Kona’s race specifications. Having thicker tubes at weld points and other integral areas of the frame provides incredible strength and torsional integrity. In other areas the wall thickness has been thinned to lighten the bike making sure there is a perfect balance between speed and stability.

Tubeless Compatible Rims

An increasing amount of 2014 Kona models feature the benefits of tubeless compatible rims. Tubeless rims allow for tyres with more puncture resistance, better tire grip, lower rolling resistance and weight savings over traditional tube and tyre systems.

Tapered Headtube

Tapered headtubes are not just for improving the aesthetics of your bike, due to its cleaner lines and smooth transition between the fork crown and headset cover, tapered headtubes offer a more solid connection between the frame and forks. This connection helps to distribute shock force better prolonging the life of the headset itself.

Rocker Independent Suspension

The Process range feature the Kona Rocker Independent Suspension, with this construction Kona have found a healthy balance between the down and the up, while also designing a suspension platform that was as compact and low-slung on the frame as possible for maximum standover, stiffness and manoeuvrability. This allows the suspension to provide a stable pedalling platform, while giving the rider a predictable feel throughout the travel.

Note: Manufacturer may reserve the right to change the specification of that listed or shown on this page.

About the Kona brand

Born in the deep forests of Vancouver, British Columbia in 1988, Kona has since gone on to become one of the most influential bicycle manufacturers in the world, known for it’s innovations in mountain bike design, creative marketing and now, road and commuter offerings.

Named for the breezy trade winds that keep the Hawaiian Islands lush and tropical, throughout the company’s 28-year history, their designers have always believed that technology isn’t about creating new confusing acronyms and high-tech principles that may or may not help a bike to ride better. Quite often it’s the simplest innovations that enable the greatest improvements.

With offices in Vancouver, BC, Bellingham, Washington, and Geneva, Switzerland, and a staff that lives and breathes riding bikes, today Kona is perhaps best known for its blend of modern technology and creative thought. One of the most notable innovations of 2014, one that garnered them an incredible amount of attention, was the simple idea of rider fit, best viewed in the geometry and design of their incredibly successful line of Process enduro bikes.

A lot of the company’s most noteworthy technology comes in the form of its undying attention to detail. From steel to carbon fiber to titanium, refined aluminum alloys through to Scandium 69, Kona features perfected bicycle models ranging from Kids’ cyclocross bikes to World Cup downhill race machines, stylish inner city commuters to flat-out, perfectly priced road bikes.

Still owned by its original founders, Kona is one of cycling’s great  worldwide success stories.
